| "Thanks for helping me get rakeback at Full Tilt, I went from a break even player to growing my bankroll while I improved my skills. Thanks to rakeback, I'm now beating 200nl. Adam was very helpful in answering all of my questions about the rakeback program."

| "Thank you for teaching me about rakeback. I was depositing and busting my bankroll every month last year, but now with my weekly rakeback I haven't deposited in 6 months. Thanks again." |

5 Excuses Made By Losing Poker Players |
|
 |
| |
If you play poker for long enough, you are going to come across the same few excuses made by a variety of different players to explain why they are losing money on a regular basis.
Of course, their strategy is sublime and they could outplay Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan simultaneously whilst making a bowl of Cornflakes if they wanted. Therefore there has to be a reason behind their losing streak – which they are going to be more than happy to tell you all about.
Here is a small selection of the top excuses made by losing Poker players.
“I'm playing for fun (at the moment)”
The reason they are calling huge raises with exceptionally poor pot odds and going to the river with middle pair is because they are playing for fun, not because they are oblivious to basic strategy.
These sort of players have dropped down a few levels to let off some steam through impressively poor plays, right before they shoot back up to the nosebleed limits (well above where you would ever play of course) and annihilate the advanced competition there.
You should feel privileged that such a class player has chosen to sit at your table and fritter away those chips through what appears to be borderline embarrassing plays, as opposed to taking it to the nearest high stakes online Craps table and losing it there.
Bad luck.
Now, this can be the genuine truth a lot of the time, as we all have unfortunate runs of cards every now and then. However, anyone that makes a big song and dance about their bad luck (and also claims they have more bad luck than anyone else) is likely to be a losing player over the long haul.
In poker, you need to keep a cool head to avoid playing on tilt. There is no need to get worked up about things that are out of your control, so just accept them and wait for the good luck to come your way.
Nobody goes through life with permanent bad luck, regardless of how many mirrors you like to recreationally smash on a regular basis. If you play poker for some time, you will have your ups and downs, but dwelling on the bad periods doesn't help one bit.
Online poker is rigged.
Ahh, this one is a classic. Online poker is rigged to take all your money, obviously.
If you are a losing player, it is clearly because a poker room has decided to single you out from the thousands of online players and decided that it is going to give you worse cards than anyone else. The poker rooms go out of their way to ensure that this is the case, so that your opponents will always get the better of you every session.
There are many, many arguments for online poker being rigged, but there are many answers as to why the arguments are not true. One of which simply being that losing players are just not good enough poker players just yet – that's where all their money is going.
Overview.
The more you play, the better you will get, and having the best rakeback deal will help losing players tremendously – it's just the way things go (this is especially the case in Poker). There must be enough excuses out there to fill up a whole book about why losing players do not win money.
At the end of the day, excuses do not get a losing player's money back. A winning player is one that looks for solutions, rather than one that gets frustrated and doesn't address the problems in their game. |
